The València City Council, through its Smart City Office, has been selected by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), a United Nations agency, to host the 9th Edition of the Green Standards Week which will be held from the 1st to the 4th of October at the Palacio de Congresos de València.

València’s commitment with the achievement of the sustainable development goals and the protection of the environment has allowed our city to host one of the worldwide events that the United Nations organizes.

This international congress will serve as a global platform for debate and knowledge exchange in order to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and moving towards a circular economy, and highlight the opportunities that the use information and communication technologies (ICT) pose to help accelerate the transition towards smart and sustainable cities.

The 9th Green Standards Week will bring together leading specialists and national and international organizations in the field of smart cities, leading policy makers, engineers, designers, urban planners, senior officials, regulators, standards experts and universities. The lectures and discussions will be carried out in both Spanish and English and will be retransmitted through the United Nations web pages.
