Smart Tourism

The project presented will provide with connected NFC smart readers circa 300 points of use throughout the city of Valencia (museums, monuments, tourism businesses… ). These readers will serve tourist purposes and otherwise.

They will be supported by a network of 5 smart tourist information offices, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, where tourists and visitors can consult information, purchase tourist products or collect orders which they may have made in advance or while visiting the city.

This project runs parallel to the project also presented by the City Council of Valencia to virtualize the MOBILIS card. Both projects show a complementary development that will allow, when both are completed, provide Valencia with a network of consultation, purchase, and tourism consumption, as well as the generation of fully connected information, which will give the tourist a fundamental value that will materialize in greater satisfaction of consumption in the city, less impact of tourism on it and therefore, derive in more sustainable tourism in a smart city.

Points of use

Mobility in the city is also improved, both for tourists and citizens, by reducing queuing times and managing the tourist card in museums, monuments, etc... The first batch of 42 points of use has been installed in the city's leading museums, points of interest, gardens and historical-artistic complexes.

Smart points

4 smart points are distributed throughout the city's main tourist areas, where you can pick up, in an agile way and without queues, the cards that have been purchased online, even 24 hours a day as is the case with the airport point.
During their stay, tourists can find out the card's expiration date, how many times it has been used and even access specific promotions and benefits.
