The project "Supply and installation of a solution for smart parking management" is one of the actions of the "Impulso VLCi" initiative.
The VLCi Impulse initiative includes 17 projects that promote València as a smart city.
The Smart City Office coordinates these projects with the different Municipal Services, Red.es and the awarded companies.
Specifically, the project for the intelligent management of parking has a budget of approximately 1,300,000 euros, 70% of which comes from the European Regional Development Fund, ERDF, managed by Red.es, and the remaining 30% from the City of Valencia.

The project develops the strategic objective of having a Municipal Parking Management System (SMGE), which aims to be the backbone of the municipal strategy in the management of parking in the city, covering in a flexible way the present and future needs that include new forms of mobility. The SMGE includes as a subsystem, the ORA Management System (SGORA), which is in charge of the operation, administration and management of regulated parking in the city.
The project will allow municipal technicians and managers the following functionalities:
- Real-time parking visualization. Improperly parked vehicles. Alerts.
- Regulated and non-regulated zones. History, occupancy levels, average occupancy time...
- Dashboards and advanced analytics with AI tools.
- Information and alerts on traffic, electric vehicles, parking meters, PRM, C/D, cabs, new forms of mobility (electric scooters, etc.), residential priority areas, valenbisi, etc.
- Definition of new indicators
- Management of API's for open data and third-party use (data economy).
EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT
On the other hand, new functionalities of value for citizens will be provided, among others:
- Visualization of spaces likely to become free in regulated parking areas according to the information provided by parking meters.
- Visualization of parking and services available in regulated and non-regulated zones thanks to the recognition of parking spaces through advanced analytics and AI tools. Among others, parking is regulated by parking meters, for electric vehicles, Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM), loading and unloading, cab and new forms of mobility (electric scooters, electric motorcycles, etc.).
